ROOF TERRACE
THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
A design project for a roof terrace follows the same process as for a garden. A new design or re-design of a smaller courtyard or a roof terrace often require more attention to detail than a larger garden. There is often little space to work with and every centimetre counts to make the garden look smart and neat.
DESIGN PROCESS
CLIENT VISIT
We visit your garden and discuss what you need help with. The first meeting is always free of charge. The meeting normally takes about an hour. We ask the client to fill in a questionnaire to pinpoint the needs and desires for the garden.
SITE ANALYSIS
We always need to carry out a site survey. If it is a small flat garden we measure up the garden and make visual records on site. For a larger site with elevations, structures and buildings etc. a full topographical survey will have to be carried out by a professional surveyor.
CONCEPT
We always start a new project by collecting ideas and drawing sketches. We create a client brief and present a moodboard to visualise our concept for your new garden. Our design always includes suitable garden furniture.
DRAWINGS
We make 2D and sometimes 3D drawings depending on the scope of the project. 3D drawings can help you to visualise what your garden will look like. If the design needs any construction work (i.e. a pergola, retaining walls etc.) we will provide you with relevant construction drawings.
A lighting plan can be composed to ensure the garden is beautifully lit at night. We can also help you plan your irrigation system.
Our design work includes a full planting plan. A planting plan is a layout which tells you exactly where the plants will be positioned in the garden.
BUILDING THE GARDEN
Once the design is completed we can appoint gardeners and contractors to do the job. We also source plants and suppliers for materials and installations.
