FINCA GARDEN
Location: Countryside inland, South Mallorca
Plot size: 7 000 m2
Landscaped garden: 5 000 m2
This large property began as a blank canvas, ready to be transformed into a beautiful Mediterranean garden. The owners, a family with two young children, had recently renovated their villa and wanted an outdoor space that reflected the essence of Mallorca while offering areas for relaxation, play and entertaining.
The original garden felt dated, with an uninviting lawn, overgrown ivy, scattered shrubs, and harsh stamped concrete around the house. Our design replaced this with Mediterranean planting, including long-flowering Mediterranean perennials, sweeping ornamental grasses, and a gravel garden with aromatic species such as lavender, teucrium and rosemary.
Existing wild olives, carob, almond, and olive trees were carefully pruned, while new trees and hedging were added to provide shade and structure. A locally sourced stone wall replaced an overgrown hedge, creating a strong visual connection between the terrace and orchard, while also serving as informal seating by the pool.
The result is a timeless Mediterranean garden, perfectly suited to the island’s climate and lifestyle. A space where the family can enjoy outdoor living all year round.
