This was a complete transformation of a traditional Mediterranean countryside garden in the inland of Mallorca. Although the site offered spectacular views they were hidden behind overgrown cypress trees while the space itself was dominated by heavy hardscaping, an undefined entrance and awkward proportions. The garden felt disconnected from the house the views and the natural surroundings.
Our approach to this Mallorca garden redesign focused on softening the landscape and create a better flow. We removed excess concrete and replaced visually intrusive palm trees and introduced Mediterranean planting and trees that thrive in and look great in a Mediterranean setting. The new landscape design features a series of garden rooms: a welcoming entrance path mending through beautiful drought tolerant Mediterranean planting, a shaded pergola for alfresco dining near the house, a relaxed lounge area and a small fruit orchard for seasonal enjoyment.
A living tree pergola was also added to create a shaded car park blending practicality with a lighter more organic feel.
The result is a Mediterranean garden that feels calm, welcoming, and rooted in the Mallorcan landscape. A space that now truly reflects the beauty of its surroundings.
