VINEYARD ESTATE

Location: Countryside inland, South Mallorca

Plot size: 50 000 m2

Landscaped garden: 5 600 m2

We were asked to create a new garden in a privileged setting which forms a part of a larger estate of 50 000 m2. The estate, a farm and an organic vineyard, is nestled at the base of the Tramuntana mountains.

Our clients asked for a Mediterranean garden that could be used for lounging and entertaining guests along with a vegetable garden and fruit orchard. An accessory road divided the garden from the vineyard which needed to be incorporated into the design to unite the two areas.

Olive, cypress, pine and crape myrtle trees were planted to create a vertical plane that blends the stunning backdrop of the surrounding mountains. The cultivated garden includes a mix of long flowering perennials and ornamental grasses and roses. Beyond the swimming pool you move through a labyrinth of ornamental grasses and into the dry, gravel garden with olive trees. The full view of the vineyard can be seen here under the shade of the olive trees. The back part of the garden contains raised vegetable and herb beds surrounded by fruit trees.
